Highland Whisky Tours provides bespoke individual tours to whisky distilleries throughout Speyside in our luxury car. Below is a selection of distilleries which we can visit as part of your Speyside Whisky Tour.
GLENFIDDICH DISTILLERY
Situated in the heart of the Malt Whisky Trail on the outskirts of Dufftown on Speyside, the family owned Glenfiddich Distillery was established in 1886. With many brands and ranges the most famous being the Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky. Enjoy the Explorers Tour of this distillery to learn about the family, the distillery and it's success as well as tastings from the Glenfiddich range. The distillery also has a restaurant and shop.
STRATHISLA DISTILLERY
Learn about the age-old craft of whisky distilling and the art of blending at Strathisla Distillery - the spiritual home of one of the most famous whisky brands in the world – Chivas Regal. Situated in Keith and dating from 1786, much of the buildings have changed little and the distinctive double pagodas makes Strathisla one of the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland.
GLEN GRANT
For fans of Glen Grant malt whisky a tour of this beautiful distillery situated in Rothes in Speyside has a visitor centre which features a guided tour of the distillery and a private tasting if required. There is wide range of scotch malt whiskies in the Glen Grant range on sale in the shop.
THE GLENLIVET
Spectacularly located at the bottom of heather clad hills, the Glenlivet visitor centre has a fascinating hands-on display of The Glenlivet and its history and the guided tour takes in the distillery and the vast bonded warehouse. You can choose a dram of The Glenlivet 12, 18 years old, or Nàdurra. And drop in to the coffee shop for light meals and fine home baking. Also available is the opportunity to fill your own personalised bottle of The Glenlivet.
ABERLOUR DISTILLERY
The Aberlour Distillery visitor centre has been awarded the maximum five-star status by Scotland’s National Tourism Board. The relaxed and informal tours enable guests to experience the whisky-making process and sample a selection of the finished products in a tutored tasting session. Tours are by appointment
BEN ROMACH
Located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres lies Benromach Distillery. From a small and almost lost distillery emerged a single malt with distinctive qualities. Enjoy a personal tour, experience a tutored tasting or wander through the museum, browse our shop or exclusively hand fill your own unique bottle of Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
DALLAS DHU HISTORIC DISTILLERY
Dallas Dhu is typical of many small distilleries built around 1900 to help quench the growing thirst for ‘Scotch’. While the march of change has transformed many distilleries, and closed others, Dallas Dhu remains a perfectly preserved time-capsule of the distiller’s art.
CARDHU DISTILLERY
The Cardhu distillery which is the only distillery started by a women, really does stand out from all the other distilleries in the Speyside area. he malt whisky produced here has a warmth and cleanliness of taste which experts describe as "silky" and is used in some of the award winning Johnnie Walker blends.
GLENMORAY DISTILLERY
A small, friendly and informal distillery, Glen Moray is situated in the city of Elgin, the historic capital of Speyside. Glen Moray has been distilled on the banks of the River Lossie since 1897. At the Glen Moray distillery you can discover the reality of malt whisky distilling. The delight of Glen Moray is that your tour guide could be one of the distillery craftsmen themselves.
MACALLAN DISTILLERY
The Macallan’s curiously small spirit stills are the smallest on Speyside. Their unique size and shape give the spirit maximum contact with the copper, helping to concentrate the ‘new make’ spirit and provide the viscosity and rich, fruity, full-bodied flavours so characteristic of The Macallan.
GLENFARCLAS DISTILLERY
To this day, Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled and matured at the family owned and run distillery. Take a tour of the distillery with one of our knowledgeable guides and discover not only the magic of malt whisky production, but the unique aspects of Family owned Glenfarclas.
